WATNA MORI
Principal & Legal Expert

Watna is a lawyer and a strategic leader with great awareness
of where power lies. She has a LLB and a Bachelors in Politics & International Studies from Murdoch University (Australia), a LLM in Public International Law from the University of Amsterdam, and a Masters in Social Change Leadership from the University of Melbourne.

Watna has expertise in international law, human rights, climate, environmental and customary law.
Outside of the law, Watna has worked as a  research associate at the Lowy Institute’s Pacific Program, regularly writing articles for the Lowy Interpreter and other publications.
Watna is passionate about building sustainable relationships within the Blue Pacific and beyond and dismantling inequitable systems and structures.

Government and Community Lead

Ali is a successful business man with a broad community and government network. Ali assists in building community relationships and navigating the PNG bureaucracy.

Major Phil Kanamon  
Business Development Specialist

Major is an accomplished Business Development Specialist and Stakeholder Engagement Consultant with over a decade of marketplace expertise across PNG. He holds an Executive MBA from the Papua New Guinea University of Technology (2026) and a
Bachelor of Business & Management from the University of Papua New Guinea (2014).
Major has certifications across board governance, project management, cyber security, and quality management systems.
Recently, working for the USAID-PNG Electrification Partnership (USAID-PEP), he planned and executed 10 provincial information-sharing workshops that engaged over a thousand local participants, predominantly women. Major is excellent at bridging the bankability gap for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), leveraging rigorous commercial due diligence and governance advisory to enable local businesses and projects to be compatible with both domestic and international regulatory compliance requirements. Currently, Major is supporting a Feasibility Assessment of Carbon Pricing Instruments in PNG by mapping local stakeholders and gathering data for the assessment.
